About Us

Who We Are

Formed in 2026, the Maine Moose Coalition is a non-profit organization providing a platform for concerned citizens, working together, to advocate for sustainable management of Maine’s moose population based on the best information available. Our goal is for management practices and policies that prioritize moose health over other interests to ensure moose are here now and in the long-term future.

Our members include hunters and non-hunters, registered Maine guides, professional and amateur photographers, business owners and people who love moose just because they are moose.

Our purpose is to provide a credible and impactful voice advocating for the moose, we are the voice of the moose since they have no voice in the State decision making process.

What We Do

We provide factual educational and informational programs covering the biology of moose and the economic impact of the moose population on communities that rely on tourism as a major part of their economic basis.

We liaison with wildlife biologists, researchers and other professionals nationwide and globally to explore current best practices and advocate for their use when appropriate.

We develop programs both locally and state-wide to ensure communication about moose management happens in as timely a manner as possible.
